Segmentation of Medical and Material Images
This study focuses on optimizing segmentation algorithms for the precise extraction of tumor contours in mammograms, addressing the high visual variability of breast tissue through the use of active contours and CNN-based instance segmentation models. To demonstrate their versatility, the effectiveness of these methods is also validated in parallel through the analysis of images acquired by an optical microscope for the morphological study of microplastics.
